Modeling of Time and Frequency Random Access Network and Throughput Capacity Analysis

چکیده
In this paper, we model the random multi-user multi-channel access network by using the occupancy problem from probability theory, and we combine this with a network interference model in order to derive the achievable throughput capacity of such networks. Furthermore, we compare the randommulti-channel access with a cognitive radio system in which the users are able to minimize the channels occupancy. Besides, we show that the sampling rate can be reduced under the Nyquist rate if the use of the spectrum resource is known at the gateway side. This scenario is referred as "cognitive radio" context. The mathematical developments and results are illustrated through various simulations results. The proposed model is particularly relevant in analyzing the performance of networks where the users are not synchronized neither in time nor in frequency as it is often the case in various Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Jointly power and bandwidth allocation for a heterogeneous satellite network
Due to lack of resources such as transmission power and bandwidth in satellite systems, resource allocation problem is a very important challenge. Nowadays, new heterogeneous network includes one or more satellites besides terrestrial infrastructure, so that it is considered that each satellite has multi-beam to increase capacity. This type of structure is suitable for a new generation of commu...
متن کاملPerformance of p-Persistent Frequency-Hopped Slotted Random Access Protocol
We propose a p-persistent protocol for slowfrequency-hopped slotted random access networks, assuming that all the users know the number of backlog users in a slot. The proposed protocol delays new packet transmission until the number of users with a packet to be retransmitted decreases to the threshold or less. Performance of the proposed protocol is evaluated with a two-dimensional Markov chai...
متن کاملArea Energy and Throughput Targeting in Debottlenecking of Heat Exchanger Networks with Decomposition Approach
For energy saving retrofit projects, its economics are usually evaluated in terms of capital investment and payback time. The capital investment is in direct relation to the total heat recovery area of the network and the payback time factor is base on both the area and the energy savings. The debottlenecking is an increased throughput, which can be profitable in economic sense. The combination...
متن کاملAnalysis and Modeling of VoIP Servers: A Linear Programming Approach
The SIP protocol was standardized by the IETF at the application layer for initiating, managing, and terminating multimedia sessions and has been widely used as the main signaling protocol on both the Internet and VoIP networks. Most challenges in this protocol are overload and lack of proper state distribution. These challenges cause a wide range of next-generation network users to face a shar...
متن کاملAnalysis and scheduling of practical network coding in OFDMA relay networks
Network coding has become a prominent approach to improve throughput of wireless networks. However, most of work in the literature concentrates mainly on 802.11-like random access networks. New technologies such as OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiple access), offer new opportunities for employing network coding. This paper considers how to apply the practical network coding scheme in ...
